MAY DAY FESTIVAL!

On May 3rd 2011 starting at 9:00a.m slt and for the next 24 hours after that, it was the MAY DAY FESTIVAL! and for the first time ever... Team Remembering Our Friends participated.

As we prepared our tent we succeeded in having some vendors up, face painting booth, dunk tank and 2 awesome 1 of a kind motor bike all set up, ready for donations to the kiosk.

As the crowd stopped by and warmed up their arm to take a swing to dunk either Captains -Amanda, Skye, Mike or Webmaster - Carlo

King Norte and Princess Addie of the Tiny Empires Kingdom of Northern Lights dropped by to try their hand at the dunk tank and also face painting.











Amanda gives the face painting a try as she shakes from the
cold water of the dunk and tries not to get paint all over Green.

These two awesome "1 of a kind" bikes were especially made for our ROF ANGELS team to auction off and we did so at this May Day Festival.
There bikes were donated by JAY Dudek of "DEATH DEALERS MC", which we say a huge thank you too. As for the two that won the bids, I will update as soon as I get the other name but.....

Teammate Hennessey was just waiting for the next victims to come along and she did a fine job at the face painting booth with the kids that came along.

May Day Festival 2011 again was a very good success for Team Remembering Our Friends Angels with donations of approx 22,000 Lindens coming into the kiosk.

Thank you to EVERYONE that came out to either help out at the may day tent, be our dunk tank victims, put your vendors up with special creations for Relay For Life 2011 an all the donations. that came in.

Remembering Our Friends Memorial is sponsoring and operating a Relay For Life team this year:

"Remembering Our Friends Memorial Angels"

The team is founded by Mike Burleigh. Mike, Skye Leroux and Amanda Steadham are the Captains and will lead the team. All have very strong experience with Relay for Life of Second Life. The Members of the team are a dedicated group of people. They are survivors, caretakers, supporters and friends of those who have been touched by the effects of Cancer.

Remembering Our Friends Memorial has many people memorialized that have lost the battle with Cancer. So it was fitting for them to have a team this year.

The team will relay from March 12th - July 17th, 2011, along with the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life in Second Life. They will hold RFL events, such as, Bid Bald, Date Night, Auctions, a Music Fest and many more.

As the team participates in Relay For Life in SL, you will have an opportunity to make donations for the team. Every donation, large or small, counts. Donations and Sponsorships will be accepted after the start of Relay on Mar. 12th, 2011. Donations will be accepted in Second Life at kiosks in several locations, or on the website.
